RED ZONE Wedge Test

Does Your Wedge Shot Handicap match your Playing Handicap???

Red Zone Inside 100 yards

Red Zone Inside 100 yards

Take the FREE RED ZONE Wedge test at Monarch Bay Learning Center.  See the 10 foot targets on the ALL GRASS Monarch Bay Driving Range at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 yards.

Take 2 wedge shots to each target.  Add the points total for all shots and see what your RED ZONE Wedge Handicap is.  Does your wedge shot handicap match your playing handicap?

Take your wedge shot and watch where the ball finishes to see the result. If your ball finishes inside the 10 foot target, you’ve earned 3 points.  If the ball finishes outside from 0 to 10 feet (one target width), you’ve earned 2 points.  If the ball finishes outside from 10 to 20 feet (two target widths), you’ve earned 1 point.  If the ball lands outside the target by Over 30 feet, you SUBTRACT 1 point from your total points for all wedge shots.

Now use the total points for all 10 shots (2 shots total to each target) to see what your handicap is.  If you can score 15 or more, you have a scratch handicap – GREAT!   If you can score 9 to 15 points, you have a single digit handicap – WELL DONE!  If you can score 7 to 5 points, you have a bogey handicap – NOT BAD!  If you can score 4 or less, you need work – come to the Wednesday night FREE clinics and get a Guaranteed Straight shot!

Feel Free to try this test Any Time.  Ask Coach Rick what the results mean and how you can Improve.  This is 1 of 6 short game tests that we use to get you a Frustration Free Game of Golf, one that’s repeatable.  See more about the RED ZONE 1-day golf schools or junior camps under Programs.

It Is Coming to Monarch Bay …

FootGolf

FootGolf

FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf.

The game is played with a regulation soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups.  The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf.

FootGolf as a game is played throughout the world in many different forms, but as a sport, it is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).  The American FootGolf League (AFGL) is the exclusive member of the FIFG and governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States.  The AFGL is organizing tournaments throughout the country working with golf courses to bring FootGolf to their clubs as another avenue for revenue and to develop the game further.

See all about it (with  video) at www.footgolf.net/afgl.html

Why choose 2014 Junior Academy?

Why choose 2014 Junior Academy?

Golf Skills, Life Skills, Affordability, Supervised Learning – towards Golf Scholarships!

The Monarch Bay Learning Center Junior Academy is continuing education about golf, character & rules for life and golf.  Our approach is to combine swing mechanics, game / shot management and emotional / mental control for a consistent golf game to play with fun!

This is an excellent way to learn and practice the golf game towards higher golf goals of competitive play or getting on school golf teams with an eye towards golf scholarships.  This regularly scheduled program is ideal for the busy parent looking to get juniors more active in a supervised, fun, learning environment.

The program is designed for juniors ages 6 to 17 in a regular monthly program in 3 levels with instruction and play, to have fun, know the game and feel good playing with anyone.  Each level has a test that, if passed, allows them to continue their progress to more skills and better play.

Junior Academy instruction focuses on Putting, Chipping & Pitching, Sand shots, Iron approach shots, and Tee wood shots, as well as Pre shot routine & Mental game skills.  Playing sessions focuses on playing planning & results as well as Etiquette and Rules that help.

Life skills are covered by the Character Counts skills of Caring, Respect, Fairness, Trustworthiness, Responsibility and Citizenship.  We encourage parents to work with juniors to review and prepare for test at each level.   Golf Rules & Etiquette topics include Course / Shot Management, Rules that Help – No Penalty,  Common Rules explained, Short game Etiquette, Tee Honors & Pace of Play, and Stroke / Match play Etiquette.

Did you know that 10 percent of all girls golf scholarships went UNCLAIMED?  5 percent for the boys.  All juniors needed to do is play golf with some success.  See the College tab at www.NewRulesCoachRick.com to see the DVD excerpt that got Rachael into Wake Forest!

Programs are Affordable.  Use the Basic program for 4 lessons a month for $89 or the ULTRA program for 8 lessons a month for $139.  Graduates can attend any level class, with extended play weekly and can play in Kids on Course with their member card for $10 a round.

For details or to register contact Coach Rick or register and do easy pay online at www.MonarchBayGC/instruction on the Saturday or Sunday schedule for Jr Academy.  Ask about our referral program to get additional lessons FREE just for signing up a friend!
